After 12 years still ....

It's been 12 years since I was convicted of my last felony. It was a felony DUI in Nov of 2004. Plus I have been discharged for five years this July. Yet I still don't get hired at some jobs because of it. All the years I spent with a bottle in my hand and look where I am now, 38 in between jobs and live in a hotel cause most apartments do a background check.
   I quit drinking two years ago and haven't been in any trouble in forever, you think they would cut me a break somewhere but I guess that's not how it works
